God Provides!

For the past couple of weeks I have been looking for some some dressy boots, but everything I found was out of our price range.  (My mom said that I couldn't spend more on my boots than she spent on hers!)  Last weekend we were on our way home from visiting family, and we stopped at a big strip mall, but we still couldn't find anything in our price range.

While I was pitying myself we were walking to Claire's, and my mom kept saying, "God will provide!" I knew she was right, but still found myself feeling a little hopeless. As we were walking into Claire's my eye caught a rack of boots. I walked over to the rack and hanging there were some perfect black scrunchy what I like to call pirate boots. I was a little afraid to look at the price tag, but when I flipped the tag open there were the numbers $28.00. I was happy and excited. I raced to my mom and said, "I found the boots! I found the boots! I could have gotten them for $48.00, but now I can get them for $28.00." After I got the boots I kept thinking God will provide, and God bless Claire's!

Boo-hoo!!!

Do you know why some people cry when they cut onions? The answer is something truly weird.
When an onion is cut it lets off chemicals which were in tiny, little sacs before the the cutting of the onion. You can not see these sacs because they are teeny tiny. These chemicals that the onion let off are harmful to your eyes, so the tears come to wash the harmful chemicals away from your eyes. Tears are not just a sign that you are having emotions about something. Tears keep harmful things from your eyes.
Here is another weird thing. If you run water over an onion in the sink while you are cutting the onion, the chemicals will still come out, but they will flow down the drain with the water. The chemicals will not reach your eyes this way, and you will not cry. If you freeze an onion for about fifteen minutes before cutting it the harmful part of the chemical will be killed because of the cold air, and again you will not cry.
Just in case you were wondering, people also cry when they are having strong emotions about something such as an exciting moment or something sad or upsetting. If you are overwelmed about something crying will actually calm you down.

Comfort!

A mother's love for her child isn't only for human mothers!

"As a mother comforts her child, I will comfort you..."  (Isaiah 66:13 NIV)

Be Yourself!

Do you ever catch yourself doing or being something your not? Well be unique. Maybe wear an outfit once and a while that just says you. Maybe have a funny saying that's so funny your friends bust up laughing every time they hear it. Sometimes the way we act isn't the way God wants us to act, so we just have to accept what God wants and do what He wants.

Boogers...

Warning: If you do not want to know what boogers really are don't read this!

You may think snot (actually called mucus) is a really disgusting thing, but it is actually useful. If you breathe germs, pollens, dirt, and other things into your nose they would go down into your lungs. That would make it hard to breathe. That is where snot comes in. Snot stops the pollens, dirt, germs, and other things. After the snot stops all that stuff, the snot and hair in your nose (cilia) surround it. Then the snot and everything else hardens and turns into a booger.

KMBI Christian Radio

Every Saturday morning on KMBI there are a bunch of different kids programs on. Some adults enjoy them too. All you have to do is turn the radio on to 107.9 or 83.3, but if you don't have a radio get on the Internet and type in kmbi.fm and click listen live. The programs are from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The programs are Coconut Hut are Ranger Bill, Kids Corner, Down Gilead Lane, Adventures in Odyssey, cool Christian music and more. I hope you decide to turn on KMBI sometime and listen to one, or all of the programs.

Good News

"...I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never
walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

I was listening to the radio today and someone said this: "We may not be able to preach the gospel in front of them, but we can live the gospel in front of them." People have said this so many times in different ways, but it never made this much sense. If you are in another country where you can't talk (preach) about Jesus you can act (live) like Jesus would--be kind, be patient, listen to what people have to say, etc. When you do this, some people will ask why you are so patient and kind and everything. Then you can tell them that you act (live) this way because Jesus does.

Cupcakes!

The other day I was making random designs of flowers on cupcakes with my friend and came up with some really cute ones. All you need is colored frosting and/or a bunch of different candies.

To make roses you have to lay a Laffy Taffy on a sheet of wax paper, put it in the microwave and turn it on for about eight seconds. Once it's done you can roll it out with a rolling pin and cut it into narrow, thin strips. Then you roll it up like you would roll a sleeping bag, and it looks like a little rose. For the petals you can do the same thing with a green Laffy Taffy, but cut out a couple triangles instead of rolling it to look like a rose, or you can cut sour punch straws into small ovals to make leaves.

For frosting flowers and leaves, color white frosting with different colored food coloring and use different tips to make the shapes of flowers and leaves. Candies like Sweet Tarts, Skittles, M&Ms, etc. are good for making petals and flowers, too.

Pink Lemonade?!

Who in the world thinks a lemon is pink? Who came up with PINK lemonade?  Well, if you go to Wikipedia and look up lemonade it gives you two stories. The one I like says that while a guy was making some regular lemonade to sell he accidentally dropped some cinnamon candies in it which turned the lemonade pink and gave it a sweeter taste. The pink lemonade sold better, so he continued dropping cinnamon candies in.

The second story is that someone simply put the dye of a red sock into the lemonade and turned it pink. If you have accidentally washed white laundry with a red sock you should be able to see how this works. If not I will tell you. When laundry is washed some of the coloring comes out. So when you put a red sock in the washer with white cloths a little bit of red dye comes out and mixes with water so it turns the water pink and makes the white cloths turn pink!

Now there is the answer to PINK lemonade!

Integrity

The dictionary defines integrity as:
  • adherence to moral and ethical principals
  • soundness of moral character
  • honesty
If  a person has integrity, they can be trusted  and keep promises. Like Noah, we can choose to have integrity. People with integrity don't gossip and hurt people. They don't watch movies, shows, or read anything sinful. They don't think bad things. They are kind. They have loving thoughts. They are like Daniel. Not only did he have integrity with people, but also with God. Daniel thought good thoughts and kept his relationship with God.

Get it, Got it, Good!

These are the magazines we make called "Get it, Got it, Good!" It's a picture of the front, back, and inside.

Church Softball and Picnic

On the 3rd of July our church had a baseball game and picnic. We went to it and had a lot of fun. There were over 50 people there. It was for all ages whether they were church attenders or friends who were invited. Inviting friends, who are Christians or not Christians, is a ministry to them. It shows God's love through us and how much we care no matter who we are. That is who Jesus is so we should be that way too. Visiting with every one and playing baseball and picnicing was very fun!

The next day the church had a volleyball game and BBQ. That was fun too! And once again inviting people is a ministry!

First Strawberry!

Pure joy!

Awesome New Nail Polish!

Beachy Keen...Flashy...Hot Stuff...Sunshine

Last month, I got some awesome, new nail polishes from Claire's. These polishes dry in about two seconds! I like to mix the pink and the yellow to make dark orange!

About Us

"We're only young once, but with humor
we can be immature forever!"
- Unknown

Hi! It's Jocelyn here, and I wanted to let you know why we made this blog. Hannah, Olivia, and I have been making some 12 page, hand-written magazines for about 2 years (but we have only made 3 magazines). We let our families and friends read them, and they loved reading all the crazy and random stuff that we wrote about. Sometimes it's true and sometimes it's our imagination. Recently, Olivia took the magazine home for her family to read, and her mom, Kelley, loved knowing that we are writing and using our brains to think of stuff to write about and enjoying it, so she gave us the idea to create a blog about random stuff (it's all going to be true though). Now you know the rest of the story because this is where we are now, writing and using our brains.
